Frank P. Silkman was captain of the baseball team in his junior (1955) and senior (1956) years, president of the Varsity Club and Outstanding Senior Athlete of 1956. During his senior year he hit .375 despite playing with a broken bone in his right hand. Silkman held the record for the most triples in one season with six.
