During his career as an RIT lacrosse goaltender, Dave Doughty guided the team to two NCAA Division III Final Four appearances. Named an All-Independent College Athletic Conference first team selection in 1987 and second team pick in 1986 and 1988, Doughty, a mechanical engineering major, appeared in 51 career games, posting a .568 save percentage and 8.69 goals against average for head coach Bill Glennon. The Tigers were 48-14 in his four campaigns, while Doughty was 35-12 in net. RIT also won four straight ICAC crowns. He is third all-time at RIT among goalies in minutes played (2,701), fourth in games played (51), wins (35), and fifth with 508 saves. His 8.71 career goals against average in eighth best in school history.
