A native of Webster, N.Y., Craig Jones had a brilliant RIT basketball career. He was NCAA Division III Player of the Year in 1997 and earned three All-American honors. He was also RIT Senior Athlete of the Year in 1997 and won numerous awards from various national publications, associations and organizations. In 2001-02 he was inducted into the JP Morgan Chase Tournament Hall of Fame. In 2006, Jones was also named to the JP Morgan Chase Tournament 40th Anniversary Team. He scored a career record 1,984 points (18.7 average), breaking the previous mark of 1,919 by Hall of Fame member Jim Robinson. Jones also set the career mark with 1,085 rebounds and led the nation in 1997, averaging 14.0 boards per game. During his tenure, RIT teams were 84-22 and made three NCAA playoff appearances, advancing to the round of 16 his senior year.
