Playing forward and midfield for the RIT women’s soccer team, Carolyn Rivers earned second team All-American honors in 2001 and third team NSCAA/Adidas All-American plaudits the same year. The native of Gates, NY scored 49 points and is the all-time leader with 10 game-winning goals. She was a two-time All-New York State selection as well as All-Northeast Region in 2000 and 2001. Carolyn also garnered All-Empire 8 honors in 1999, 2000 and 2001. She was also named to the 2001 NYSWCAA All-Tournament Team. Her 49 points are sixth best all-time and she is third in career goals with 22. Her best season was 2000 when she tallied 24 points on 11 goals and two assists. Carolyn also won RIT Athlete of the Week honors on numerous occasions. Academically, she maintained a 3.49 grade point average in Criminal Justice and was consistently on the Dean’s List. Today she lives in Rochester and is a registered nurse at Strong Memorial Hospital.
