During Arnie Cardillo’s four seasons of basketball, RIT compiled an enviable 66-10 record. In 1955-56, playing on a new court, the squad posted its only undefeated season with a 17-0 record and was inducted into the RIT Sports Hall of Fame in 2011. Cardillo did his share of scoring, totaling 1,067 career points, an average of 14.0 per game. Cardillo’s best year came in 1958-59 when he tallied 329 points (16.5 per game). During his tenure, RIT teams averaged 81.7 points per game, highlighted by a remarkable 89.2 average in 1955-56. Cardillo was a mechanical engineer major at RIT.
