In the last two decades, no one has had a greater impact on RIT men’s soccer than Rochester native Angelo Panzetta. From 1985-88, the first three-time All-American in RIT soccer history helped guide the Tigers to four NCAA playoff appearances, four Empire Athletic Association (EAA) crowns and a 55-7-7 four-year won-lost record. In his senior year, the Tigers advanced to the NCAA finals and lost to the University of California at San Diego on home turf. Named RIT Senior Athlete of the Year in 1988, the sweeper played in the Intercollegiate Soccer Association of America (ISAA) Senior Bowl, receiving more votes than any other player. An applied mathematics major, Panzetta was a four-time All-EAA selection, including Rookie of the Year and two Player of the Year Honors. He was a four-time All-New York state selection and All-Tournament in four RIT tournaments. Twice he was named team Outstanding Player.
