In his two seasons at RIT Alberto Montanez made quite an impact on the RIT basketball program. He came to RIT as a transfer student from Westmoreland County Community College. Alberto scored 1,200 career points, averaging 21.8 points per game as a junior and 26.6 points during his senior year. He was named Eastern College Athletic Conference and Empire Athletic Association Player of the Year in 1993. Alberto also helped the Tigers to an ECAC title in 1993. He was awarded with third team All-American honors and boasts the school record for most points in a game with 48. Alberto also holds the school record for most points in an away game with 46 against Hamilton in the 1993 ECAC title game.
