Adam Platzer, a native of Geneva, N.Y., starred for the RIT men’s lacrosse team from 1997-2000. He started in goal all four years for the Tigers, leading RIT to a pair of appearances in the NCAA Division III Tournament in 1999 and 2000. During his four years RIT went 42-16 overall with an appearance in the national semifinals in 1999 and the national quarterfinals in 2000. Platzer, the 2000 RIT Male Athlete of the Year, was a two-time All-American selection earning third team honors in 1999 and honorable mention accolades in 2000. He was a first team All-Empire Athletic Association selection in 1999.
