Ragonese and MacRae selected to play in North/South game

ROCHESTER, NY -- Senior midfielder and face-off specialist Jerry Ragonese (Berkeley Heights, NJ/Governor Livingston) and defenseman Dan MacRae (Oakville, Ontario/Holy Trinity) have been selected to play in the 2010 Lax World/USILA North/South game. This year's game will take place on Friday, May 28 at Beldon Field on the campus of Gaucher College in Towson, Maryland at 3 pm.

MacRae anchored the Tigers' defense and was named MVP of the Empire 8 Men's Lacrosse Championship. The senior is a two-time first team All-Empire 8 selection (2009. 2010) and led the Tigers with 51 caused turnovers and grabbed 70 ground balls.

Ragonese, a face-off specialist, was named to the first team after recording a team-best 152 ground balls and a .606 face-off percentage (266-for-439). He led the conference and is among the Division III leaders in ground balls averaging 8.0 goals per game.

RIT finished the season with a 14-6 record and were the Empire 8 Tournament champions advancing to the Division III quarterfinals.

The North/South game began in 1940, when Baltimore hosted the inaugural game, and has been the site for 22 North/South contests, including the first seven games. The last time the North/South game was held in Baltimore was 2007 at Calvert Hall.
