ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT men's basketball team was defeated by St. John Fisher College (17-3, 11-1 E8) 74-57 in a key Empire 8 match-up on Tuesday night. The loss drops RIT to 8-11 overall and 4-6 in the Empire 8. Junior guard
Anthony Terry (Rochester, NY/Bishop Kearney) led RIT with 24 points.
RIT trailed by a point at half time 33-32, shooting 50 percent from the floor on 14-of-28 shooting including 4-of-9 from three -point land. Terry led RIT with 17 first half points.
RIT led by four points on two separate occasions in the second half. On a layup by Nate Korinchak's with 13:48, and a three pointer by
Shawn Roe (Corning, NY/Corning East) with 11:13 to play which matched the TIgers largest lead of the game.
The Tigers went cold from the field over the final eight minutes of the game and were out scored by the Cardinals 23-6 in that stretch.
The Tiges shot 41.6 percent from the floor on 23-of-56 shooting. RIT went 7-for-18 from behind the arc and were just 4-of-11 from the foul line. Fisher out rebounded RIT 38-25.
Marcus Lowe (Anchorage, AK/Service) scored eight points off the bench for RIT who will host Nazareth College on Tuesday, February 9 at 8 pm.
