CAPE COD, MA -- The RIT women's hockey team has claimed the top spot in the 2009-10 ECAC West Pre-Season Coaches Poll.
The Tigers, who posted a 15-2-1 league record (21-3-2 overall), spent the majority of the 2008-09 campaign ranked in the top-5 of the USCHO Poll.
The Tigers are looking forward to a promising year, as they are led by 2008-09 Co-Coach of the Year Scott MacDonald, and return four members of the 2008-09 Women's West All-Conference Teams, including forwards #
Sarah Dagg (St. George, Ontario/Hamilton Hawks)#, #
Katie Stack (Batavia, NY/Rochester Edge) and
Ali Hills (Honeoye Falls, NY)#, and defenseman #
Traci Galbraith (Oakville, Ontario/Burlington Jr. Barracudas)#.
RIT opens the regular season on November 6 with an ECAC West tilt at Neumann.
