PITTSFORD, NY -- The RIT women's volleyball team dropped a pair of games versus Stevens and St. John Fisher at the Empire 8 crossover hosted by Nazareth College. The Tigers fell 3-1 (21-25, 25-19, 25-10, 25-19) to Stevens and 3-0 (25-23, 25-16, 25-12) to St. John Fisher. The losses drop RIT to 18-17 overall and 3-3 in conference play.
Katie Cooper (New Canaan, CT/New Canaan) led the way offensively versus Stevens, blasting seven kills. Victoria Petko and Rebecca Moore each had six kills, while Moore added two digs.
Freshman setter, Christina Worth had 23 assists, three digs and a block.
Melanie Springer (Frederick, MD/Governor Thomas Johnson) led the way with six digs.
Versus Fisher, senior
Victoria Petko (East Amherst, NY/Clarence) and
Rebecca Moore (San Diego, CA/Rancho Bernardo) paced the Tigers offensively with seven and five kills respectively. Petko also added one service ace, three digs and four blocks.
Christina Worth (Valencia, CA/Valencia) had 13 assists, 12 digs and three assisted blocks.
Alli Kamsch (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) had four kills and
Audrey DiPoala (Victor, NY/Victor) had 16 digs.
Action continues on Saturday, October 24 at Nazareth College. The Tigers face Nazareth College at 2:30 pm and Utica College at 5 pm.
