ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT women’s volleyball team ended its 2009 season with a split at the New York State Regional Challenge, finishing fifth. The Tigers beat Lycoming and SUNY Brockport, and were defeated by cross-town rival Nazareth and St. Lawrence. The Tigers finished with an overall record of 21-20, with a conference record of 4-3. On Sept. 18, head coach Roger Worsley picked up his 300th career win. In nine seasons, Worsley finished with a record of 216-115. He finished his career at RIT holding a school record for all-time coaching wins.

ITHACA, NY - The RIT volleyball team split a pair of matches en route to a fifth place finish at the 2009 New York State Regional Challenge on Sunday.  RIT opened the day with a 25-27, 25-22, 22-25, 20-25 loss to St. Lawrence.  The Tigers finished the afternoon with a 25-22, 25-15, 25-17 win over Lycoming.  Senior middle hitter Victoria Petko (East Amherst, NY/Clarence) was named to the All-Tournament Team.

ITHACA, NY - The RIT women's volleyball team (20-19) opened play the 2009 New York State Regional Challenge by going 1-1 on Saturday.  RIT opened the day by defeating Brockport in four sets, 25-21, 21-25, 25-19, 25-21, then fell to Nazareth in three sets, 25-20, 25-16, 25-11.

ROCHESTER, NY - Three members of the RIT volleyball team earned 2009 All-Empire 8 honors on Friday.  Senior middle hitter Victoria Petko (East Amherst, NY/Clarence) was named to the first team, while freshman outside hitter Rebecca Moore (San Diego, CA/Rancho Bernardo) garnered honorable mention accolades.  Freshman Melanie Springer (Frederick, MD/Governor Thomas Johnson) was RIT's selection as the Empire 8 Sportswoman of the Year.
