Men's soccer ends 2009 season

ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT men’s soccer team ended its 2009 season with an overall record of 8-8-1, and an Empire 8 record of 5-2-0. The Tigers finished third in the Empire 8, falling to conference rival Stevens in the Empire 8 semifinal. RIT started the season off slow, losing six of their first nine games, before winning six straight games, five of which were Empire 8 contests.

Four men’s soccer players earn 2009 Empire 8 All-Conference Awards

ROCHESTER, NY – Senior Jeff Diaz (Brentwood, NY/Brentwood) and junior Dom Colaprete (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport) were named to the 2009 Empire 8 All-Conference first team on Thursday afternoon. Senior Chris Somers (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport) was a second team selection, and junior Bret Dietz (Harrisburg, PA/Bishop McDevitt) earned honorable mention accolades. Diaz was also selected as RIT’s Sportsman of the Year, his third consecutive year receiving the award.

Men's soccer loses to Stevens in Empire 8 semifinals

HOBOKEN, NY -- The RIT (8-8-1) men's soccer team had their season ended on Friday with a 6-0 loss to Stevens Tech (13-4-1) in the semifinals of the Empire 8 Championship. The Tigers came into the game as the second seed and the Ducks were seeded second.

ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT men’s soccer team, seeded third, travels to Hoboken, N.J. on Friday, where they face Empire 8 rival, and second seed Stevens Institute of Technology (13-3-1, 5-1-1 Empire 8) in the semifinals of the Empire 8 tournament at 2 p.m. RIT is currently 8-7-1 overall, and 5-2-0 in the Empire 8.
